AD 2025-09-03 reduced the life limits on the main-rotor (M/R) clevises, universal bearings, and universal to pitch link bolts and required reidentifying the M/R pitch link assemblies with new part numbered assemblies. Since the FAA issued that AD, the agency received comments proposing changes to the AD’s actions. This new AD, effective Aug. 11, requires changes to those actions and addresses the comments received on that AD. He said it will be paid for by Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, which makes helicopters that transport the president.
