(Flying) – The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is close to finalizing a training course for the Artemis III lunar landing—scheduled for mid-2027—using helicopters from the Army National Guard High-Altitude Aviation Training Site in Colorado.

Crew members from the Air Methods subsidiary met with Jason Fisher, whose life they saved following an accident in 2022, during an event honoring World Helicopter Day on Aug. 17 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

This FAA airworthiness directive (AD), which requires the inspection of certain main-rotor transmission driveshafts for cracks and prohibits the installation of certain driveshafts unless the inspection is done, takes effect Sep. 24. It also prohibits the use of certain paint strippers.
