Member Focus: Sweet Helicopters Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA VAI Member — Vertical Aircraft Operators Photo and text by Mark Bennett Since its founding in 2015, Sweet Helicopters has expanded its fleet to comprise an Airbus H125 and three H130s, plus a pair of Leonardo AW109SPs. The aircraft, each of which features a high-end interior, move between the operator’s three bases in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Goshen. Sweet provides mostly VIP transportation, including serving as the official helicopter service provider for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and separately for the Indianapolis 500. The company also flies University of Notre Dame police for security and traffic control during football games, concerts, and special events. In a typical year, Sweet transports 1,000-plus passengers throughout the Midwestern United States.
