This proposed FAA airworthiness directive (AD) would require repetitively tap inspecting and replacing certain main-rotor blades, while prohibiting the installation of those blades, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency AD. The FAA is seeking public comments by Jan. 3, 2025.

Hikers face fines for diverting Canadian emergency helicopter

(The Cool Down) – A group of eight hikers could face fines of up to $25,000 each after entering an unauthorized area of Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada, and calling for emergency services after saying they were too tired to continue. Responders found no signs of injuries. The helicopter crew diverted from fighting a wildfire for about three hours, according to local officials.
