Another bill would modernize FAA requirements by allowing pilots and other certificate holders to present digital certificates instead of physical ones. VAI Daily Jan. 26, 2026 Report: USAF helicopter landed too close to crowd in Japan (Task & Purpose) – According to a US Air Force (USAF) accident investigation, children and teachers should have been 600 ft. away when a USAF HH-60W landed at their elementary school for an April 2025 family event at Kadena Air Force Base in Japan. Instead, they were less than 100 ft. The report notes that a teacher’s death after being thrown to the ground by rotor wash resulted from poor planning and a “false confidence of safety” among pilots, crew, and leaders of the USAF 33rd Rescue Squadron.
