(KOLO) – A California Highway Patrol helicopter crew assisted with finding and rescuing a lost mountain biker on a trail near Downieville, according to a Jan. 18 post from the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office.

LifeFlight Australia is reporting a new operational record for 2025, assisting a total of 8,838 patients across 3,857 helicopter missions. The addition of new Leonardo AW139s, base upgrades, and emergency trauma training workshops helped drive a 9% increase in missions flown compared with 2024, according to the operator.

(KUTV) – Four people survived after a helicopter went down Jan. 18 near Wolf Creek Campground in Wasatch County. One person suffered a head injury in the crash, according to local officials.

The FAA is accepting comments through Mar. 6, 2026, on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would supersede AD 2024-24-02, released Nov. 25, 2024. The updated AD would continue to require removal of the affected fuel-control unit (FCU) from service and replacement with a serviceable part. It would also reduce the number of affected FCUs.

The French military has awarded a contract to Airbus Helicopters and Naval Group to provide a half dozen VSR700s for the French Navy, with operations planned to start in 2028.

Eve Air Mobility is building six conforming electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) prototypes for its flight-testing campaign after the first flight of its uncrewed full-scale eVTOL prototype in December 2025 at parent company Embraer’s facility in São Paulo, Brazil. Eve anticipates type certification, initial deliveries, and entry-into-service in 2027.
