VAI Daily Oct. 18, 2024 FAA SAFO: Shipments of batteries/battery-powered devices and flammable materials The FAA has issued a safety alert for operators (SAFO) to inform aircraft operators about safety concerns involving cargo shipments that may contain batteries, battery-powered devices, or analog or electronic timing devices in combination with flammable materials. VAI Daily Oct. 18, 2024 Atlantic Aviation to install chargers to support eVTOL ops at East 34th Street Heliport Atlantic Aviation has extended its concession agreement with the New York City Economic Development Corp. and the City of New York for operations at the East 34th Street Heliport in Manhattan for the next five years. As part of the agreement, Atlantic will soon begin to upgrade utility infrastructure and install charging stations at the heliport to support electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft operations. Heli-One is a supplier to Bell Textron, which was awarded the $800 million contract in April 2022.
