TSB report: Bell 206L-4, Alberta, Canada, Jul. 6, 2025

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada limited-scope, class 4 investigation notes that while practice autorotations are essential to helicopter pilot training, conducting them can introduce higher risks than experienced during a regular flight. Pilots should also carefully consider these elevated risks before exposing passengers to them. In addition, the TSB report reminds pilots that wearing a helmet can help prevent serious injuries in helicopter accidents.

Police helicopter crashes while responding to active shooting

(CBS News) – An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter went down while providing air support at an active shooting scene Feb. 4 in Flagstaff, resulting in the deaths of the pilot and a flight paramedic.
