Final FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland/MBB Bo 105 and BK 117 series

The FAA is accepting comments through Jan. 30, 2026, on this airworthiness directive (AD), which would require visual inspections of the fork lever for cracks and the mixing-lever assembly for missing components, damage, or corrosion. It would also prohibit the installation of affected fork levers unless certain requirements are met. The AD becomes effective Dec. 31, 2025.

FAA SAIB: Restricted category type certificate holder responsibilities

This revised FAA special airworthiness information bulletin (SAIB) informs the aviation industry of potential nonconforming military specifications, US Army-Navy standards, and national aerospace standards fasteners. The SAIB applies to manufacturers, owners, operators, and maintenance personnel working with rotorcraft, airplanes, engines, and appliances. The bulletin also asks the aviation industry to report fastener failures and other nonconformities.

VAI conference highlights transition, safety, federal reforms
