The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued a revision to Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2023-0147R1, ATA 05 – Time Limits/Maintenance Checks – Main Gearbox Suspension Bar Pins/Fittings – Re-Calculation of Life Limits; ATA 53 – Fuselage – Main Gearbox Suspension Bar Pins/Fittings – Replacement/Modification. The revision took effect Dec. 15, 2025.

NTSB final report: Bell OH-58A, Caseville, Michigan, Aug. 23, 2025

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has determined the probable cause of the accident to be the front-seat passenger’s inadvertent movement of the cyclic control, which resulted in a dynamic rollover after landing. Investigators cited the pilot’s decision to leave the dual-flight controls installed with an untrained passenger in the front seat as a contributing factor.

Final FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland/MBB Bo 105 and BK 117 series

The FAA is accepting comments through Jan. 30, 2026, on this airworthiness directive (AD), which would require visual inspections of the fork lever for cracks and the mixing-lever assembly for missing components, damage, or corrosion. It would also prohibit the installation of affected fork levers unless certain requirements are met. The AD becomes effective Dec. 31, 2025.
