ROTOR Act passes US Senate, would close ADS-B loopholes

(AIN) – The US Senate unanimously approved the Rotorcraft Operations Transparency and Oversight Reform (ROTOR) Act on Dec. 17. The ROTOR Act would strengthen oversight of military helicopter and jet routes near US commercial airports. It would also mandate all aircraft currently required to have ADS-B Out to equip with ADS-B In by 2031, and to operate those features.
