FAA issues bulletin about synthetic blended fuels

The FAA has issued a revised special airworthiness information bulletin that advises operators and other parties that jet fuels made from an ASTM International Standard D7566–approved list of synthetic blending components are acceptable for use in aircraft and engines certificated for operation with D1655 Jet A or Jet A-1 fuel if the D7566 fuels are reidentified as D1655 fuels.

Proposed FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters EC130 B4 and EC130 T2

The FAA is seeking comments through Jun. 23 on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would require inspecting the tension-torsion bar and taking corrective actions, if necessary. It would also prohibit the use of certain maintenance manuals, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency AD.
