EASA proposal targets sound limits for VTOL aircraft

(AIN) – The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is accepting comments through Nov. 21 on a new proposal to establish noise certification requirements for aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capability. If adopted, sound limits for takeoff, overflight, and approach would mirror those currently used for helicopters under International Civil Aviation Organization Annex 16 Chapter 8.
