(AIN) – The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is accepting comments through Nov. 21 on a new proposal to establish noise certification requirements for aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capability. If adopted, sound limits for takeoff, overflight, and approach would mirror those currently used for helicopters under International Civil Aviation Organization Annex 16 Chapter 8.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Annual Safety Review 2025 emphasizes that it remains critical for operators to continually monitor risks, learn from occurrences, and adapt to emerging challenges, including the integration of drones.
