Multirole Part 135 Airbus AS350 B3 operator provides aerial photography and filming, charter, survey, longline, and utility services to civil and government operators.

Located about 11 miles from Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts, Tuckamore Aviation promotes itself as providing safe, reliable, and personable helicopter services to customers in the northeastern United States. An FAA Part 135 operator, the company provides aerial photography, aerial film production, airborne surveys, and utility operations, including longline work, charter services, and government project support with an Airbus AS350 B3 helicopter.

Early Beginnings
Cofounded by Monica Snow, a professor at Wentworth Institute of Technology Engineering, and her former flight instructor and experienced commercial pilot Jeff Hubbard, Tuckamore Aviation launched in 2015. The company made headlines in the local Boston area when it debuted doors-off tours and aerial photography operations. Tuckamore then made a name for itself conducting Boston-area scenic tours, whale tours, and flights over the region’s scenic lighthouses, which are a favorite of photographers.

Expansion in Charter, Utility Work
While the service was popular, the company stopped providing aerial tours a few years later and chose instead to focus on its growing charter and utility work. It still takes the doors off when warranted.

Tuckamore’s expansive utility work includes airborne magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric surveys, which involve mounting sensor systems to the airframe or slinging them below the helicopter. The company has worked with multiple international survey and exploration companies across North America. Additionally, Tuckamore is active in construction, building repairs, and other aerial-lift projects. It is also contracted with the US Department of the Interior to assist in a number of airborne missions that include wildfire suppression and wildlife management.

Aerial Filming
The company has also expanded its aerial cinematography services and has contracts to assist with film, television, documentary, promotional video, and commercial video production. Its aircraft can be equipped with ShotOver, Cineflex, Thomas, and SpaceCam stabilizing mounts to complement any camera for filming.

Hubbard serves as the company’s director of operations and chief pilot. He worked as a flight instructor and commercial pilot in the United States, including in Alaska and New York, before being approached by Snow about the possibility of creating a company together. Snow, an aviation enthusiast with a PhD in forestry and a master’s degree in engineering, runs the operations side of the business, helping the company bid for government contracts and expand its jobs in the construction and utility operations space.
