(Grand Forks Herald) – A University of North Dakota (UND) student pilot and instructor were uninjured in a Sep. 6 training accident at Grand Forks International Airport (KGFK) that resulted in damage to the helicopter.

(BBC) – A military helicopter went down shortly after takeoff Sep. 8 in San Salvador, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including Police Director-General Mauricio Arriaza. El Salvador’s president has ordered an investigation and said he does not think the crash was an accident.

(Euronews) – Helicopter crews from Air Zermatt airlifted more than 2,000 people stranded at a resort on the top of a mountain in Switzerland Sep. 6 after a mudslide cut off road access to the area.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has determined the probable cause of the accident to be the maintenance technician’s failure to inspect and clean the entire fuel-nozzle assembly in accordance with the engine maintenance manual, which resulted in fuel starvation and a partial loss of engine power.

Airbus Helicopters has obtained a contract from the Iraq Ministry of Defense to provide 12 multirole H225M helicopters that will replace Mil Mi-17s in service with the Iraqi Army.

(BBC) – A UK Royal Navy Merlin went down into the English Channel Sep. 4 while conducting night-flying exercises with an aircraft carrier. One crew member died in the accident and two others sustained injuries.

(CBS News) – California Highway Patrol officers shut down the southbound lanes of Route 110 in Los Angeles for several hours Sep. 5 after a helicopter pilot made a precautionary landing on the highway. No one was hurt.

Dufour Aerospace and Savback Helicopters have conducted 12 test flights of Dufour’s AeroMini 10 tiltwing prototype at the Västervik Drone Science Park at Västervik Airfield (ESSW) in Kalmar County, Sweden.
