The company has agreed to purchase Zurich, Switzerland–based Daedalean for CHF 180 million (US$223 million).

The Air Methods division will convert two Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawks into Firehawks—including updating the avionics and adding a DART Aerospace belly tank—for wildfire response operations in Colombia.

The FAA is accepting comments through Sep. 19 on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would require inspecting and measuring certain check valves and removing cracked or leaking valves from service. The AD would also prohibit installing affected check valves on any helicopter.

The FAA special conditions outline additional safety standards for Sikorsky S-61A, L, and N helicopters with a Carson Helicopters hoist overload protection device (OLPD).

Joby Aviation has agreed to acquire Blade Air Mobility’s passenger-carrying business for up to $125 million. The transaction does not include Blade’s medical division, which will remain a separate public company.
