King Schools courses feature enhanced user interface
San Diego, California, Sep. 14, 2026 — Learning pilots and maintenance technicians will find that King Schools’ educational products have a new, user-focused interface that provides a more intuitive way to navigate their training, track their progress and move between ground school and FAA test preparation.
“Learning technology has changed dramatically over the past 50 years, and King Schools has changed with it,” said Barry Knuttila, co-owner and CEO of King Schools. “We’ve always looked for ways to deliver aviation education that makes learning accessible and enjoyable. This newest interface is an important step in that evolution.”
A video demonstration and tour of the new look can be seen on the King Schools website.
In addition to a redesigned appearance, the update delivers practical improvements to the learner’s training experience, including improved progress tracking, better continuity when studying across multiple devices, faster course response times, and enhanced Test Prep App functionality.
One of the most significant changes is the addition of visual progress bars throughout the courses. This allows learners to see at a glance how much of their ground school and test preparation they have completed, what remains and where they should pick up their training.
“Learners enjoy a course that guides them through their training and keeps them fully aware of their progress,” said Knuttila. “They want to be able to study wherever they are, on whatever device they have with them, and immediately know what they have completed and what is left to do. That’s what we have focused on with this new interface. It’s easier to navigate, easier to track your progress and easier to get the most out of your training.”
Martha King, co-founder and co-chairman, added, “The updated interface organizes each course into a straightforward path through its lessons and their individual videos. Learners can also view video captions, change playback speed, make audio level and other audio adjustments and switch to full-screen video. In addition, the course now supports “night mode” to make it easier on the viewer’s eyes.”
For courses that include knowledge test preparation, such as the King Private Pilot Ground School and Test Prep course, learners can easily switch between their video lessons and dedicated test prep, including flashcards, question review, and practice exams.
“The learning system also includes course progress tracking across any computer, tablet, or mobile device,” said John King, co-founder and co-chairman. “This allows learners to fit study time around flight lessons, work and other commitments without losing track of where they are in their training. It all makes learning more fun.”
