The UPLIFT Collective marks public launch at VERTICON 2026

New 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to leadership and safety training for aviation and air medical professionals.

ATLANTA, GA – March 2026, The UPLIFT Collective, a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, marks its public launch at VERTICON 2026, introducing a scholarship program designed to remove financial barriers to leadership development in aviation and air medical transport.

Founded by VyClimb Consulting’s Michael and Linda Benton, UPLIFT addresses a persistent industry challenge: talented professionals promoted into leadership roles without adequate training or ongoing development support.

“For too long, I’ve watched talented people step into leadership roles without the support they need to succeed,” said Linda Benton, UPLIFT Vice President and Co-Founder. “UPLIFT strives to change that by directly investing in people who will elevate safety culture and strengthen their organizations.”

Proven Concept, Expanding Access

UPLIFT quietly awarded its first pilot scholarship in 2025 to an Air Medical Program Director for attendance at the CHC Safety & Quality Summit in Vancouver, BC. Building on that foundation, the organization is now formalizing its scholarship program for broader industry access.

The scholarship program plans to support opportunities such as Verticon, Air Medical Transport Conference, CHC Safety & Quality Summit, leadership and management training programs, and safety-focused professional development courses.

Scholarship amounts will range from $500 for conference registrations to complete packages exceeding $5,000 covering intensive training programs and full travel costs. Application details and timelines will be announced later this year.

Building Industry Support

Several aviation and air medical organizations have expressed early interest in supporting UPLIFT’s mission, signaling industry recognition of the leadership development gap. “The response from operators and industry partners has been encouraging,” said Michael Benton, UPLIFT President and Co-Founder. “People recognize that investing in leadership development is not optional, it is essential for safety and operational excellence.”

UPLIFT is currently forming a Founding Donor Circle for organizations committed to supporting the next generation of aviation leaders. Founding Partners contribute $10,000 or more and receive permanent recognition, involvement in program development, and partnership opportunities.

100% Program Investment

VyClimb Consulting serves as UPLIFT’s founding donor and covers all administrative costs, ensuring 100% of donations fund scholarships and programs directly. “Industry-wide growth requires industry-wide investment,” Benton said. “When leaders have access to world-class training, everyone benefits; their teams, their organizations, and ultimately the people the industry serves.”

Eligibility and Mission

UPLIFT scholarships are available to professionals working in aviation and air medical transport who demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to safety culture, including pilots, flight nurses, paramedics, mechanics, communications specialists, operations and safety managers, and other industry roles.

The organization’s mission reflects its name: UPLIFT stands for Unlocking Potential through Leadership, Innovation, Focus, and Trust.
