Robinson unveils next generation of the R66 Robinson Helicopter Co. (Booth # 8234) is displaying its refreshed and enhanced R66 at VERTICON 2025. The R66 NxG offers new technology and standard safety equipment, including an impact-resistant windshield and a two-axis Garmin GFC 600 autopilot standard in a smaller, “more glass” instrument panel. “If you look at some of our most popular R66s rolling off the line right now, the instrument panels are large, with round gauges around the periphery of the glass panel display,” says Robinson CEO David Smith. “We wanted to include those things to maximize viewing but give [customers] all the features of an integrated glass system with items such as integrated warning and caution advisories and engine instruments.” With prices beginning at $1.36 million, the R66 NxG also includes standard air-conditioning, updated materials, and new paint schemes in three different trim levels named after neighborhoods near its Torrance, California, headquarters and manufacturing plant. The base-level NxG Southwood comes standard with Garmin G500H 700P/700P TXi avionics with a two-axis Garmin autopilot, two interior color choices of stone or graphite, an impact-resistant windshield, and new LED landing lights. The mid-level Palo Verde is equipped with the Garmin G500H 700P/700P TXi or an optional 1060/700P TXi flight display as well as a Garmin GTN 750Xi GPS, a synthetic vision system, navigation and communications, a Garmin GDL 60 datalink, and the two-axis Garmin autopilot. Sun visors and ambient overhead lighting are standard on this trim, while footwell lighting is available as an option. Design features include a sand leather interior option and a new exterior paint scheme in a variety of standard and metallic paints. The premium Riviera Limited edition will be available only for order over the next 12 months, with a limited amount to be built. The model offers advanced Garmin avionics and a three-axis autopilot as well as a “midnight and umber” interior with an Alcantara headliner, leather seats accented with laser-etched suede inserts, and a light wood floor. The very first R66 Riviera edition will be on display at VERTICON this week.
