Liberty University students receive King Schools scholarships

(San Diego, California) – On Dec. 2, 2025 two outstanding Liberty University School of Aeronautics students, Benjamin Magambo and Cristian Girardi, were awarded scholarships by King Schools, the nationally recognized leader in aviation education founded over 50 years ago by John and Martha King. The scholarships reflect King Schools’ ongoing commitment to supporting aspiring pilots and inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals. Each recipient was awarded a $5,000 cash scholarship plus lifetime access to every King Schools course, creating a total scholarship package valued at more than $20,000 per student.

Benjamin Magambo, an online Liberty University aeronautical student, shared the impact King Schools has had on his aviation journey: “King Schools has inspired me to pursue aviation with excellence and professionalism. Their emphasis on safety, learning, and improvement aligns perfectly with my own goals as I work toward being a commercial pilot. Thanks to them, I was equipped not just to meet the standards for certification but to exceed them.”

Cristian Girardi, a residential student at Liberty University, emphasized the role King Schools played in his academic and flight training success: “King Schools has helped me get to where I currently am. I have used their ground instruction to not only help me pass knowledge exams, but to develop a deeper and stronger understanding of topics I was not fully confident in. Without their classes, I would not have been able to pass knowledge and practical exams in the efficient time frame I did.”

Dr. Steven Brinly, Dean of the Liberty University School of Aeronautics, praised the partnership between the two organizations: “We are honored to continue partnering with King Schools to empower the next generation of aviators,” said Brinly. “These scholarships not only ease the financial burden but also affirm our shared commitment to excellence and integrity in aviation education. At Liberty, our mission is to equip, mentor, and send Champions for Christ into the aerospace community—and King Schools helps make that vision a reality.”

John and Martha King shared their enthusiasm for supporting young aviators: “It is our pleasure to offer Cristian and Benjamin each a $5,000 cash scholarship to support their flight training, along with lifetime access to every King Schools course,” said Martha King. “We believe deeply in investing in today’s youth—encouraging them to pursue their aviation dreams with knowledge, integrity, and a passion for excellence that will shape the future of our community.”
