AT Systems, a leading provider of aviation training technology, is proud to announce the award of a significant nationwide contract to supply its advanced training devices to Army National Guard aviation units across all US states and territories.

This contract will equip every National Guard flight facility with multiple AT Systems units, enabling on-site training for a wide range of degraded visual environment scenarios, including Inadvertent Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IIMC), brownout/whiteout (dust and snow), and full IMC flight conditions.

For the first time, National Guard units will be able to conduct multi-ship IIMC training with synchronized weather simulation across the entire formation. AT Systems’ unique automation architecture ensures all aircraft in the simulated flight experience the same environmental conditions—improving realism and enhancing team coordination during critical scenarios.

“By removing distractions to the safety pilot and ensuring consistent, repeatable training conditions, our system not only meets but exceeds the FAA Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ACT ARC) recommendations for spatial disorientation training,” said Tyson Phillips, cofounder of AT Systems.

In addition to this nationwide deployment, AT Systems’ view-limiting device is now in active use by law enforcement and air medical (HEMS) flight training programs. Agencies across the country are using the system to prepare pilots for disorienting flight environments during night operations, low-visibility scenarios, and high-stress public safety missions.

“As National Guardsmen ourselves, we’re proud to provide the most realistic training available to help our fellow citizen-soldiers prepare for spatial disorientation. As pilots take on increasingly complex missions in law enforcement and EMS aviation, the ability to recognize and recover from disorientation is critical to survival,” Phillips added.

AT Systems was selected for this national deployment based on its advanced automation, robust safety features, and pilot-centric design—setting a new standard for spatial disorientation mitigation and mission readiness.

The announcement coincides with AT Systems’ presence at APSCON 2025, the Airborne Public Safety Association’s annual law enforcement aviation conference.
