Sharing News of the Vertical Flight Industry

At Vertical Aviation International, we know we work in the coolest industry anywhere in the world. Because of our passion for vertical flight, we really enjoy sharing information about the amazing and impactful work people do with really beautiful aircraft.

Since you found this page, we believe you might also have a passion for rotorcraft. Awesome! We’re happy to share our information with you! We offer a variety of communications resources designed to inform and enrich users who know little or nothing about what makes vertical flight so special.

At VAI, we specialize in vertical flight. Our association began with helicopters, and we have embraced working with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) since many of our helicopter operator companies use both kinds of aircraft. We expanded our association to include advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft in 2024. Most of these emerging aircraft will operate in the same air space as traditional aircraft, and many will conduct missions currently performed by helicopters.

The members of our Board of Directors, the VAI staff, and our Industry Advisor Councils (IACs) combine for hundreds of years of experience in the vertical flight industry. Chances are pretty good that if we don’t have the answer to your questions internally, we will know someone who will have the answer.

POWER UP Magazine

Power Up Magazine is an award-winning quarterly publication that offers in-depth articles on the newest technology and industry best practices, with featured content that appeals to all.  You’ll learn a lot about safety, what VAI is doing to help your business in the halls of government, and even what it takes to follow the career footprints of industry icons.

If there’s one thing we like more than reading or hearing about vertical flight, it’s seeing these stunning aircraft in action. Each edition of the magazine features some of the best photography in the industry, showcasing the machines, how they’re used, and the people who fly and maintain them. The cool part? The magazine is free! If you live outside the U.S., there is a small charge for mailing, but it’s worth it! Just go to the sign-up page and get your subscription today.

Subscribe to VAI Daily

We produce VAI Daily each business day and send it to your email box at about noon eastern. Instead of spending hours sifting through repetitive stories, grab lunch or a cup of coffee and read through all the news we found. And like the magazine, this is a free service too. Last time we checked, free was a very good price! Visit the sign-up page and get your subscription today.

Media Contacts

VAI is pleased to work with members of the media on all things in the world of vertical-lift aircraft. Whether your story is on remotely piloted drones or helicopters, we can work with you on breaking news, soft news/features stories, and other topics. We can provide interviews for these and other areas with subject matter experts with reasonable notice.

Please note that VAI will not comment on any accident or incident that is under active investigation. In most instances, investigators take 12-24 months following the accident to complete their research and present their findings.

Additionally, we are happy to serve as a resource, providing the media with points of contact for rotorcraft operators, manufacturers of helicopters or remotely-piloted aircraft, or suppliers of parts and services for these aircraft.
