On Oct. 15, 2020, HAI President and CEO James Viola and panelists Vanessa Blacknall-Jamison, chair, Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals; Brian Gambino, president, National Gay Pilots Association; and Allison McKay, CEO, Women in Aviation International, discussed what their organizations are doing to create a sustainable pipeline for a diverse, inclusive industry. The panelists also discussed some of the opportunities that they offer minorities as well as tips that we can all use to increase diversity in our workplace. Some of the tips included remembering to bring forward what we’ve learned from previous situations; trying to listen to other points of views, even when they don’t align with our own; and being inclusive and having difficult conversations.
