A job in public service is not for the faint of heart! Texas Department of Public Safety pilot Clay Lacey told viewers at the May 13 HAI@Work webinar that this job isn’t for everyone: you must have “an itch to serve.” In addition to the benefits, he also discussed the sacrifices one must make as a law enforcement pilot. Clay also discussed industry-specific insights such as the qualifications DPS looks for in employees, turnover rates, work schedules, and more. Lastly, he told a story about one of his most memorable search-and-rescue missions where he and his crew saved a missing two-year-old.
