Guimbal celebrates fleet milestone, customer support award

Helicopteres Guimbal was recently voted No. 1 in Vertical Magazine’s Helicopter and Engine Manufacturers Survey for the fourth year in a row, demonstrating their commitment to customers and earning the trust placed in them by flight schools and private owners across the globe.

According to the survey “[Guimbal] could be called ‘the little big helicopter OEM,’ consistently outranking larger, better capitalized manufacturers in our survey thanks to its beloved product and personalized service.” With over 375 Cabri G2s in service worldwide and fleet hours exceeding 500,000, Guimbal has proven they are here to stay.

[Editor note – our data partner Parapex Media advises that deliveries are just under this figure at 1365, with #1362 recently delivered to a customer in Bulgaria soon.  Additionally, at least 24 G2s have been withdrawn from use after accidents, so we believe the current “in service” number is around 340]

As the fleet grows, and ages, the Guimbal team sees an opportunity to continue proving that they are the best by quickly addressing and solving the challenges that present themselves. As Bruno Guimbal said “The Cabri is a very robust helicopter, but years of training is a tough life!”. Guimbal is entering a new season. The G2 has been certified in Europe for 15 years and almost a decade in the U.S. While it is no longer the new kid on the block, it’s still by far the most modern trainer available and Guimbal has no intention of letting that change – which means continual improvements to the helicopter, service bulletin upgrades, available options, and tech pubs are high on Guimbal’s priority list.

Precision Support Services, affectionately known as Cabri USA, is the North American Distributor and Support Entity for Guimbal. The U.S. remains Guimbal’s largest market and North America ranks even higher than Guimbal’s already sky-high global rankings in the Survey. The Cabri USA team partners with Guimbal in working tirelessly to provide support to the fleet of G2s in North America via aircraft sales, a robust state-side parts inventory, technical support, mechanic and pilot training, routine maintenance, and personal access to the Program Manager. “The Cabri USA network is a family. My dad was a USCG rescue pilot and I’ve been working in Aviation since I was 18, I’ve grown up in aviation. When we get the call that one of our customers is AOG, we treat it as if our own aircraft is AOG. Because being down matters, especially to the flight schools where every hour counts” says Sarah Brazel, Precision’s Guimbal Manager. “When U.S. customers chose the Cabri G2, they are trusting Guimbal and they are trusting Precision. We take this responsibility very seriously and if the survey is any indicator, so far we are succeeding.”
