Last month, for the first time in nearly 80 years, the FAA unveiled a new aircraft category—powered-lift. This groundbreaking class of aircraft can take off and land vertically like helicopters and transition to forward flight on fixed wings. We encourage everyone in vertical aviation to become familiar with the Special Federal Aviation Regulation announcing the new aircraft class. Powered-lift vehicles may soon be operating in nearby airspace. As these new aircraft arrive on the flight line, operators may also want to integrate them into their operations. Watch this month’s video to learn more about powered-lift and what it could mean for you.
