Viola’s Flight Report—or VFR—will update you on some of the work the VAI staff is doing on your behalf. It’s essential that we share with you the work we’re doing. Whether we’re addressing new or existing regulatory matters, advocating on your behalf for a strong and vibrant international industry, or preparing for next year’s VERTICON, please know that the goal of the VAI staff is to always support you and help you keep powering up. James A. Viola Bio One sector of the vertical aviation industry that is getting a lot of attention is unmanned aircraft systems (UASs). But this sector cannot reach its full potential until we create the regulatory framework to support UAS operations beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS). VAI fully supports the integration of UASs into the airspace, including BVLOS operations, but it must be done safely. Watch this month’s video to learn more about VAI’s recommendations on how UAS integration can be achieved.
