VAI Weekly to replace VAI Daily, POWER UP starting in June The updated communications channel will include more in-depth original content as VAI winds down our magazine and daily newsletter. Against a backdrop of numerous factors, including the higher cost of production and a shift in consumer behavior toward mobile and digital channels, we’ve made the difficult decision to cease publication of POWER UP magazine (formerly known as ROTOR magazine) following the June 2026 edition. Starting on Wednesday, Jun. 3, we’ll launch a new e-newsletter, VAI Weekly, as part of a broader effort to focus our resources on higher-value, modern digital communications channels. While the magazine will no longer be produced, we’ll continue to deliver the updates, long- and short-form articles, thought leadership columns, and other features POWER UP readers have come to expect. As VAI Daily evolves to become VAI Weekly, we’ll also bring you the latest industry news and more original content that better informs members about what VAI is doing to benefit their operations. Driving Member Value Costs associated with magazine printing and production have continued to rise as the prices of paper, ink, design, production, fuel, and postage steadily increase. These expenses can limit VAI’s flexibility in serving its members and divert our resources away from important efforts regarding advocacy, safety, education, and workforce development programs, as well as our ability to provide tools members rely on to operate and compete in a rapidly evolving industry. An equally important factor in the decision to consolidate POWER UP and VAI Daily into VAI Weekly is that VAI member engagement and information consumption habits have changed since the launch of our daily e-newsletter and quarterly print magazine many years ago. Helicopter, drone, and electric aircraft operators, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers expect timely, searchable, mobile-friendly content delivered digitally. VAI Weekly will better align with our goal of driving measurable member value while ensuring that VAI’s content remains relevant and actionable. Global Trends The transition to VAI Weekly also reflects broader trends in the publishing industry. Print circulation has declined across nearly all sectors, including trade associations, business media, and professional development organizations as audiences have moved toward digital formats. By discontinuing POWER UP, VAI can reallocate staff time and financial resources toward expanding our lineup of products to better serve the needs of a diverse vertical aviation community. Moving to the VAI Weekly format will ensure that the association remains fiscally responsible, forward-looking, and aligned with how our members prefer to receive information—all while continuing to provide trusted insight, advocacy, and thought leadership for the vertical aviation industry. It will also allow us to explore new communications channels for reaching and engaging with members, including podcasts, blogs, social media outlets, community and discussion boards, and other timely, responsive, and exclusive content. A New Beginning As we near the end of VAI Daily and POWER UP, a new chapter will begin in June with VAI Weekly. This new beginning will allow us to strengthen our focus on the strategic objectives of the association: • Elevating the safety culture of the industry • Strengthening business opportunities for members • Unifying the helicopter sector and the expanding drone and electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft sector • Advocating for, and engaging in, issues that help improve member operations • Supporting workforce development initiatives and educational programming. Note: If you are already signed up for VAI Daily, you need to do nothing; you will automatically receive VAI Weekly. If you are a POWER UP subscriber but do not already receive VAI Daily, sign up for VAI Daily.
