XP Services to distribute Recoil Aerospace firefighting tanks

Two leading U.S.-based aerospace companies are teaming to bring their respective equipment and services to global helicopter operators.

Recoil Aerospace Inc. (Recoil), designer of the world’s most advanced aerial fire suppression systems (AFSS), has announced Tennessee-based XP Services (XP) as a new distributor for the Recoil line of AFSS tank systems for the UH-60 Black Hawk series helicopters.

“XP Services is a leader in customizing Black Hawk helicopters and equipping aircraft with mission-enhancing technology,” states Recoil President Joseph Rice.  “With this distributorship, their clients can now readily choose our proven UH-60 firefighting tank system, improving operational effectiveness.”

Kentucky-based Recoil offers both internal and external AFSS tank systems for the UH-60 series.

The XP Services team brings a strong rotary wing background including decades of U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation experience.

“Becoming a distributor for Recoil’s UH-60 AFSS tank system greatly enhances XP’s service offering, providing clients with access to a state-of-the-art, U.S.-made fire suppression solution,” states XP’s Bill Prince.  “This partnership allows us to deliver a reliable, effective system designed to meet the rigorous demands of firefighting operations in challenging environments.”

Kentucky-based Recoil has a wide-ranging list of existing international approvals.  Recoil STCs cover the popular H225 and UH-60 helicopters, allowing access to the AFSS for operators in the United States, Canada, Republic of Korea, Brazil, Morocco, Australia and other regions.

Adding XP Services continues expansion of the ‘Recoil Dealer Network’ with key partners, according to Recoil President Joseph Rice.

“We value the efforts of such Strategic Distributors to help us support Aerial Firefighters globally, offering our new, innovative technology,” adds Rice.

Prince says XP was initially attracted to Recoil because of the company’s cutting-edge, innovative approach to developing fire suppression systems that are specifically designed for rotorcraft like the UH-60.  “Recoil’s focus on quality and engineering excellence aligns with our own commitment to providing the best solutions for our clients,” states Prince.

“As always, our goal is to provide unmatched value through innovative solutions that improve safety, performance, and mission success for our clients,” Prince adds.

Key features of these U.S.-made internal and external tank systems include:  carbon fiber construction, underside fuselage or in-cabin mounting (requiring no modifications to the landing gear); retractable tank design; fastest airspeed available; and rapid hover-filling.

Importantly, the UH-60 internal AFSS can be installed/removed in minutes in the cabin, also allowing ground-fill operations.

Recoil is the only US-based company producing these modern, fuselage-mounted, fully retractable AFSS tanks, along with Internal AFSS tanks, in partnership with its Bowling Green, Kentucky-based affiliate Aerospace Composites Solutions (ACS).
