Celebrating its sixth anniversary in 2024, Axxeum of Huntsville, Alabama, provides a full spectrum of aviation services to civilian and government operators worldwide. Operators rely on the company for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), manufacturing, modifications, parts, flight operations, and training. Axxeum also has a comprehensive logistics division focused on rapid global acquisition and shipment of everything from individual parts to complete aircraft.

Axxeum established itself as a small-business defense contractor with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and aerospace standard (AS) certifications. The company developed its services with a focus on global readiness, agility, and around-the-clock support. Strong ties and distributorship agreements with aircraft OEMs and worldwide MRO organizations allow Axxeum to provide responsive services for a wide range of products.

Repair Station Capabilities
Axxeum’s range of MRO services as an FAA Part 145 repair station include maintenance and repair of FAA Part 27 normal category and Part 29 transport helicopters. The company also provides MRO services for many major avionics systems in addition to fixed-wing aircraft and US and international government–operated aircraft.

The company holds FAA Organization Designation Authorization, allowing it to initiate and complete supplemental type certificate (STC) work for aircraft modifications and upgrades. Additionally, it specializes in Leonardo, Bell 212, and Bell 412 modifications and support. And in February 2024, Axxeum received authorization from MD Helicopters to perform MD 500E to MD 500F conversion upgrades.

Ballistic Protection
In addition to its MRO, support, and operations functions, Axxeum manufactures Valtam Armor, a lightweight composite armor system designed to provide ballistic protection for military personnel and critical aircraft components as well as ground vehicles.

Valtam Armor can be installed as a complete aircraft/vehicle kit or on specific components or mission equipment, including seats, auxiliary fuel cells, maintenance and bay access panels, weapons mounts, mooring points, and heating ventilation exhaust systems. Additionally, to meet US Department of Defense requirements, Axxeum delivers in-depth documentation for the armor, including the certificate of conformance, a variety of performance reports, and form, fit, and function validations.

Training and Flight Operations
Axxeum provides full-service pilot and crew training in addition to its own flight operations. Axxeum is available to support local and regional agencies with helicopter support in times of need, including firefighting and natural-disaster response.
