SRT reports strong response to SAR course at VERTICON

SRT Helicopters is highlighting strong industry engagement following the “SAR in Action: Building Real-World Response Capabilities” course at Verticon 2026.

Delivered as part of the Elevations program, the full-day course brought together aviation and ground professionals for an operationally focused training experience centered on real-world search-and-rescue (SAR) missions.

Built around real-world scenarios, the course addressed the full mission lifecycle—from pre-mission planning through execution and post-mission debrief. Participants worked through complex scenarios including swift water rescue, challenging terrain operations, and downed aircraft response, with a strong emphasis on coordination across air, ground, and specialty teams.

The course also included discussion and interaction around the role of canine teams in SAR operations, highlighting how K9 capabilities are integrated into mission planning, search strategies, and coordinated response efforts. This added perspective reinforced the importance of training as a fully integrated, multi-discipline operation.

“The level of engagement we saw reflects a clear need across the industry,” said Chris Gadbois, CEO of SRT Helicopters. “Operators are looking for training that mirrors real-world operations, where aviation, ground teams, and specialized units work together in dynamic environments.”

The session reinforced a broader shift toward mission-specific, scenario-based training, where readiness is built through realistic, team-based environments rather than isolated skill development.

Attendees responded strongly to the interactive format and the opportunity to exchange insights across agencies and disciplines highlighting the value of training that prepares teams for the complexity of modern SAR operations.

SRT Helicopters continues to advance mission-focused training that reflects the realities of modern operations, supporting operators with programs designed to improve coordination, decision-making, and real-world readiness.
