Rain to add Trakka camera system to Brothers Air Support UH-60

Trakka Systems is proud to announce that Rain, a pioneering company in autonomous aerial wildfire suppression, has officially signed an agreement to integrate the TrakkaCam® TC-300-R multispectral camera system into a UH-60 helicopter operated by Brothers Air Support. The deal was finalized at VERTICON 2025, one of the premier global trade shows for the vertical aviation industry, bringing together thousands of professionals and exhibitors to showcase the latest advancements in aerial technology.

Rain (rain.aero) specializes in equipping autonomous aircraft with AI-driven intelligence to perceive, understand, and assist in wildfire suppression. Their wildfire mission autonomy system leverages advanced AI algorithms to analyze fire behavior, size, and direction of spread in real time, enabling precise and effective suppression strategies.

To enhance these capabilities, Rain has integrated the TrakkaCam® TC-300-R, which provides real-time infrared and high-definition color imaging, allowing Rain’s AI to accurately map fire fronts, detect hotspots, and assess fire intensity—even through dense smoke. The TC-300-R’s geo-location technology further enables precise tracking of fire movement and suppression assets, ensuring a coordinated response. These data streams support Rain’s wildfire autonomy system to optimize real time suppression planning, and will support coordinated response of multiple aircraft responding to ignitions before they reach critical inflection points.

Brothers Air Support, a heavy-lift helicopter company founded by twin brothers Michael and Christopher Mariani, was established in the wake of the devastating Napa Atlas Peak Wildfire in 2017. Committed to protecting people, property and landscapes from wildfires, the company operates with a strong foundation in safety, professionalism, and integrity. Now operating a fleet of heavy-lift helicopters, Brothers Air Support will deploy the UH-60 equipped with the TrakkaCam® TC-300-R for wildfire suppression missions across the USA and Australia. This strategic integration will further enhance their ability to deliver precise aerial firefighting solutions with advanced situational awareness and mission precision.

The TC-300-R, designed explicitly for wildfire missions, is equipped with a radiometric long-wave thermal imager, a high-definition daylight camera, and a laser rangefinder, all stabilized by a 4-axis active gyro system for superior image stability. Engineered to cut through smoke and enhance situational awareness, the system utilizes advanced image processing and multiple viewing modes to help operators visualize fire dynamics, detect hot spots, and identify critical areas of concern. Delivering crystal-clear color imagery and long-range infrared capabilities, the TC-300-R provides precise, non-contact temperature measurements—a critical feature for effective wildfire suppression and protecting both human life and wildlife.

“We are excited to see the TrakkaCam TC-300-R integrated into Rain’s advanced wildfire suppression intelligence systems and Brothers Air Support’s UH-60,” said Adam Boniecki, sales director at Trakka Systems. “Verticon 2025 was the perfect venue to solidify this partnership, bringing together industry leaders in aviation with cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of aerial firefighting.”
