VAI Daily Jan. 26, 2026 Proposed FAA AD: Leonardo AB139, AW139, and AW189 This FAA proposed airworthiness directive (AD) would require repetitive inspections of the left-hand and right-hand tube assemblies on the AB139/AW139 plus the left-hand and right-hand pedal-shaft assemblies on the AW189. The FAA is accepting comments through Mar. 12. VAI Daily Jan. 26, 2026 Proposed EASA AD: Airbus Helicopters EC175B The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is requesting feedback by Feb. 20 on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), ATA 05 – Time Limits/Maintenance Checks – Airworthiness Limitations Section – Amendment. VAI Daily Jan. 26, 2026 Proposed FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland/MBB BK 117 C-2 and D-2 The FAA is accepting comments through Mar. 12 on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would require modifying and reidentifying a certain affected MS18027 type hook or replacing it with a serviceable part. This proposed AD would also prohibit installing an affected part on any helicopter without first meeting certain requirements. VAI Daily Jan. 23, 2026 FAA seeks comments on revised flight restrictions near KDCA The FAA is accepting comments through Feb. 23 on revisions to the flight restrictions over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA) that would reduce the potential for midair collisions involving helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft traffic. The revisions will fully implement a recommendation from the US National Transportation Safety Board. The interim final rule takes effect today, Jan. 23.
