Helicopter crashes shortly after takeoff in Kenya

(Kenyans.co.ke) – The helicopter went down minutes after takeoff from Wilson Airport (HKNW) in Nairobi, resulting in the deaths of six people, including a member of parliament. A preliminary National Police Service report indicates the helicopter was flying at a low altitude and struck trees before crashing.

This European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) airworthiness directive (AD), ATA 05 – Time Limits/Maintenance Checks – Airworthiness Limitations Section – Amendment, takes effect Mar. 13, 2026. It will supersede AD 2024-0177 (issued Sep. 13, 2024), AD 2021-0215-E (Sep. 21, 2021), AD 2020-0269 (Dec. 7, 2020), AD 2020-0081 (Apr. 1, 2020), and AD 2018-0177 (Aug. 21, 2018).
