This proposed FAA airworthiness directive (AD) would require repetitive inspections of certain vertical upper-fin spars and, if necessary, taking corrective action. It would also prohibit the installation of certain upper-fin assemblies. The FAA is accepting comments on the proposed AD through Feb. 2, 2026.

Proposed FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters AS350 and AS355 series

The FAA is accepting comments on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD) through Feb. 2, 2026. It would supersede AD 2023-01-04, issued Feb. 1, 2023. The proposed AD would retain the requirements of the existing AD, except for the repetitive black paint index-marking inspection. It would also prohibit the installation of certain parts without meeting certain requirements.

Germany adds 20 Airbus H145Ms as part of existing order

The country’s military has exercised an option for 20 Airbus H145M light combat helicopters as part of a December 2023 order for 82 helicopters. Plans call for the German Army to receive 72 helicopters for training, reconnaissance, and light attack missions, and the Luftwaffe to receive 10 for special forces operations.
