Italy proposes nationwide AAM development with at least 10 vertiports

(Urban Air Mobility) – The Italian Civil Aviation Authority, ENAC, has published its proposed National Plan for Airports, which outlines plans for at least six urban vertiports and four airport-based vertiports across Milan, Rome, Turin, Venice, Bari, and Cortina.
The plan also calls for upgrades to 186 existing facilities to support future advanced air mobility (AAM) operations, along with additional work on testing, technology integration, and traffic-demand analysis. It is a notable example of how countries are beginning to plan for AAM infrastructure at a national level.

Elfan ap Rees, founder of Weston Helicopter Museum, flies west

The life president of The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare, England, died on Jul. 24 at 84. The museum ap Rees founded holds the world’s largest dedicated collection of helicopters and autogyros, the facility notes on its website, adding that “through his vision, determination and perseverance, countless historic aircraft were rescued from the scrapyard and preserved for future generations.”
