This revised FAA special airworthiness information bulletin (SAIB) informs the aviation industry of potential nonconforming military specifications, US Army-Navy standards, and national aerospace standards fasteners. The SAIB applies to manufacturers, owners, operators, and maintenance personnel working with rotorcraft, airplanes, engines, and appliances. The bulletin also asks the aviation industry to report fastener failures and other nonconformities.

In the latest edition of the US Helicopter Safety Team newsletter, Chris Hill, VAI senior director of safety, explains that extreme safety ownership is more than a mindset—it is a source of power that can help us protect lives.
