Investigators cited the pilot’s decision to leave the dual-flight controls installed with an untrained passenger in the front seat as a contributing factor. VAI Daily Dec. 16, 2025 Final FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland/MBB Bo 105 and BK 117 series The FAA is accepting comments through Jan. 30, 2026, on this airworthiness directive (AD), which would require visual inspections of the fork lever for cracks and the mixing-lever assembly for missing components, damage, or corrosion. It would also prohibit the installation of affected fork levers unless certain requirements are met. The AD becomes effective Dec. 31, 2025.
